Hannah recently spent two weeks in the Astley Media office getting an insight into the inner-workings of a fast-paced PR & Marketing agency. Here’s what she had to say about her experience…
As a Communications, Media and Business Studies undergraduate going into my final year at the University of Liverpool, I’ve decided to invest more time into testing out different career opportunities. Since studying PR, I’ve wanted to gain a true understanding of what is like to work in a fast-paced PR agency environment.
Luckily, I came across Astley Media’s LinkedIn post which advertised for the position of an intern, to which I applied for and before I knew it, I was at the desk starting my first day in the office.
Even though my placement was only for 2 weeks, I have been able to put the theory I have learnt at University into practice, by completing a whole host of jobs during my time as an intern. I was given the opportunity to support the business on a variety of projects, for multiple clients such as Stagecoach, Packexe and Tech South West. From creating spreadsheets to writing newsletters, from drafting tweets to market research, my tasks had such variation. Also, I was able to learn new programmes such as Hootsuite and Mailchimp. No two days were the same and that is what makes working in this industry so exciting!
My experience of working at Astley Media has been amazing. With a team of many experts in the field who all have a passion to deliver an excellent service, whilst working in a vibrant environment, is what makes Astley Media an outstanding firm to work for.
