Something special happened the other day.

One of our team had been given a very important project to work on but we, the directors, (the people she reports in to) had been even more busy than usual.

We had to cancel a couple of progress meetings, we deferred a couple of decisions.

In short, we unintentionally made her life difficult.

Perfect opportunity to say… “I can’t do any more, my bosses aren’t supporting me, right?”

She just got on and did the dang thing anyhow.

The result…?

90 per cent there… because she understands the business intimately, she is highly intelligent and she cares…

The difference we would have made micro-managing this project is indiscernible.

The moral of the story?

Trust your people.

After all… you hired them…
