Had a look at the Tower of London’s Twitter feed recently? To launch their summer show, ‘The Last Days of Anne Boleyn’, Henry VIII’s famous second wife took over their Twitter.

The brilliantly fun campaign featured selfies, the Queen’s first time on the Tube (“more comfortable than the royal horse-drawn carriage”) and a press conference from Thomas Cromwell.

Others got involved, with tweets from Transport for London, Tower Bridge, St. Katherine Docks and The Old Royal Naval College, and engagement quadrupled from their average post activity.

Followers of the Twitter takeover were left hanging after Boleyn’s arrest, and the only way to continue her story is to see the live, ticketed performances at the Tower. Fun, witty, and very well executed (pardon the pun).
